WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson is urging the Navy not to discipline Lt. Commander Timothy White for using a firearm against a gunman who murdered five U.S. military service members last month at a recruitment center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
During the July 16 attack by Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez — that left four Marines and one Navy sailor dead — White fired back at Abdulazeez with his own firearm.

Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) joined his colleagues to send a letter to President Obama and Secretary of Defense Ash Carter to strongly urge the Navy not to pursue disciplinary action against Lieutenant Commander Timothy White for having and using a firearm against a terrorist who murdered four unarmed Marines and one unarmed sailor at a recruitment center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Rowan County Commissioners now have the support of 13 attorneys general and 18 former or current members of Congress in a lawsuit that challengers the constitutionality of prayer during meetings.
Led by West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, 13 states signed onto an amicus brief asking for Rowan County Commissioners’ prayer practices to be declared constitutional. Similarly, U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, R-8, led a bipartisan group of 17 other lawmakers in signing onto an amicus brief supporting Rowan. Both documents were filed with the U.S.
