Hudson Applauds Law to Help Veterans Get Jobs
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement on the enactment of the Hire More Heroes Act:
“To put it simply, without the sacrifice and service of our veterans, America’s businesses wouldn’t be able to operate or create jobs. As they return home, we owe it to these heroes to help them find good-paying jobs outside of the Armed Forces, and the Hire More Heroes Act is a solution to do just that.”
The Hire More Heroes Act, which was the first jobs bill passed by the House this year, was signed into law by the president on Friday. The law exempts veterans who are already receiving health care through TRICARE or from the Veterans Administration (VA) from being counted toward the number of employees required by Obamacare’s employer mandate. It gives small businesses a relief from Obamacare’s punitive mandate and offers an incentive to hire more veterans.
