FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Nearly seventy-six years after his service in World War II, veteran Ormand Strickland was presented with the Bronze Star today by U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08). During a markup in the House Energy and Commerce Committee on the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2021, Rep. Hudson offered the amendment to add the funding that will prioritize COVID-19 vaccines for teachers so that schools can reopen as quickly as possible.

The legislation was introduced with a record 154 bipartisan original cosponsors. The legislation has since been referred to the Judiciary Committee and now has 166 cosponsors.
