The lame-duck session ended for the U.S. House last week. The Senate is still considering the $1.1 trillion “cromnibus” that would avert a government shutdown.

Government needs to be in the business of creating genuine opportunity for everyone — especially for these folks who need it most. WASHINGTON – Security fees on airline tickets will be capped at $11.20 per round-trip under legislation the Senate cleared unanimously Thursday for President Obama's signature.
The House had approved the cap in a 423-0 vote in September, after complaints that the Transportation Security Administration began charging higher fees than lawmakers intended.
The cap is projected to save travelers $60 million per year, according to airlines and consumer groups.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson’s bill to limit airline fees passed unanimously in the Senate on Friday and will advance to the president’s desk to be signed into law.
H.R. 5462 is the first bill introduced by the Concord Republican to pass both houses of Congress. The bipartisan bill won unanimous approval in the House of Representatives in September.
