Yesterday, members of three southeastern states united to kick-off the newly formed Atlantic Offshore Energy Caucus. Co-Chairs Rep. Richard Hudson (NC-08), Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC-03), and Rep. Scott Rigell (VA-02) join as leaders of the caucus to advance policies that explore and expand energy production in the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf as part of an all-of-the-above national energy strategy. In a concerted effort to press towards expanding energy development along our coasts, the caucus intends to guide the debate forward, stressing the incredible opportunity southeastern states have to harvest the energy from the Atlantic.

One of Rowan County’s three congressional representatives traveled from Capitol Hill to Main Street on Tuesday, touring one of Salisbury’s most tech-savvy companies.
U.S. Rep Richard Hudson visited Integro, saying his reason for the visit was to learn more about businesses in the 8th Congressional District.
“My top three priorities are jobs, jobs and jobs,” Hudson said. “As congressman of this area, I want to know as much as I can about the businesses in this area.

U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) announced today that Cabarrus County Sheriff Brad Riley will be his guest when the President delivers his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress tonight. As a Member of Congress, Rep. Hudson may bring one guest to the State of the Union, who is reserved a seat in the House Gallery.

Republican U.S. congressional representatives in the Cape Fear region were less than impressed by President Obama's State of the Union Address Tuesday.
An area Democratic representative gave the speech high marks.
"President Obama's speech was the same act we've seen for the last six years," Republican Rep. David Rouzer said. "Give everything away and make hardworking taxpayers foot the bill. Americans deserve a government that is effective, efficient, and accountable. Not more of the same."
