A Fort Bragg soldier who had a bill filed in Congress on his behalf will be U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson’s guest at tonight’s State of the Union address.

Hudson, whose congressional district includes Fort Bragg, supported the bill in the past year on behalf of Sgt. 1st Class Richard Stayskal.

Richard Stayskal, who Fox 46 worked closely with to get results for military malpractice reform, has been invited to attend Tuesday night's Presidential state of the Union address at the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The invitation comes from North Carolina Congressman Richard Hudson. Hudson represents the Fort Bragg district and has become an advocate for veterans and their families.

Sgt. 1st Class Richard Stayskal, of Pinehurst, is expected to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.

U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), who represents Fort Bragg and Moore County, announced he is bringing Stayskal as his guest Tuesday.

Stayskal recently won his year-long battle for military medical malpractice reform.
