These are how politicians have described ending the Senate’s filibuster in recent years. Another leader said, "If the majority chooses to end the filibuster, if they choose to change the rules and put an end to Democratic debate, then the fighting and the bitterness and the gridlock will only get worse.”

Those quotes came not from Republicans, but from Chuck Schumer, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama.

These past two years have brought to light a fact that has existed for too long: There are a number of disparities based on the color of one’s skin — including healthcare — and it’s time we finally close those gaps. While disease does not discriminate, there are undeniable inequities in our healthcare system. African Americans become afflicted with certain cancers at the same rate as their white counterparts, but they are more likely to die.
