Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), a member of the House Committee on Education & the Workforce, introduced the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Transparency and Accountability Act (H.R. 4959). Recently, courts have levied large sanctions against the EEOC for bringing lawsuits that were frivolous, unreasonable, or groundless. This legislation would require the EEOC to post on its website and in its annual report an array of information to promote transparency.

Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation Security, released the following statement after introducing H.R. 4802, the Gerardo Hernandez Airport Security Act of 2014, which addresses the lessons learned from last year's shooting at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that tragically claimed the life of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Officer Gerardo Hernandez. This bill would require TSA to conduct outreach to domestic airports to verify that they have working plans for responding to similar security incidents or acts of terrorism inside the perimeter of the airport.

U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) hosted a Summit on Human Trafficking at the Harris Alumni Center at UNC Charlotte. This summit focused on ways to reduce human trafficking in our local communities while providing necessary assistance to victims. The summit featured a panel of local activists, including a law enforcement officer, nonprofit groups, a UNC Charlotte professor and a survivor of human trafficking.
