Statement on H.R. 550

I have been a vocal opponent of unconstitutional vaccine mandates and I have called vaccine passports “un-American.” I have spoken out consistently and forcefully and have cosponsored bills opposing the OSHA vaccine mandate and the CMS vaccine mandate. I want to nullify the vaccine mandate wholesale.

Democrats want to control every aspect of your life. From vaccine mandates to vaccine passports to even using fear of the pandemic to change election laws. I have fought them tooth and nail every step of the way.

There have been misleading reports about one of our efforts to protect you- H.R. 550. Let me be clear, this bill:

- Does not create a federal vaccine database

- Does not create a personal tracking system

- Does not allow government officials to access patient vaccine records without patient approval.

This bill does the opposite. This state-based system already exists in North Carolina and HR 550 puts you in charge of your healthcare information, not the government.

- It makes Americans' immunization records more secure by mandating patient data is confidential and deidentified, meaning your personal information is protected.

- It adds cyber protections so hostile foreign governments like China cannot access your medical records.

- It directs funds already passed by the Biden Administration to go toward guardrails and security and prevents the Biden Administration from spending that money on anything else.
