Rep. Richard Hudson Issues Statement on the Passing of George Little
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09) released the below statement following the passing of George Little.
Rep. Richard Hudson said, "Renee and I are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend George Little, a beloved leader and a pillar of Moore County. George was not only born and raised in this community, but he dedicated his life to making it better. Along with founding an insurance business, he was a champion of economic development in Moore County and tirelessly devoted to civic service. One institution George dearly loved and dedicated many long hours to is Sandhills Community College. As the longest-serving chair of a community college board in the nation, George's leadership and vision helped transform the institution into what it is today.
"I met George 30 years ago when I was a college intern at the North Carolina Republican Party. Nobody loved the Republican Party more than George Little. He served the Party and Republican Governors for decades. He was a friend and mentor to me and so many others. We join the Moore County community in praying for Wanda and the entire family, and all who knew and loved him. George's incredible legacy of service, his infectious sense of humor, and his positive outlook on life will never be forgotten. George Little was one of the most consequential citizens to ever call Moore County home and his tireless efforts will continue to shape our community for years to come."
