Rep. Hudson Co-Sponsors the Defund Obamacare Act

WASHINGTON- U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) announced his co-sponsorship of the Defund Obamacare Act (H.R. 1005), which prevents taxpayer dollars from being used to implement the President’s health care takeover.

“I am fully committed to repealing and defunding the President’s government health care takeover,” said Hudson. “The damage that Obamacare does to our economy exemplifies the worst in government overreach. Even before full implementation, it wreaks havoc on our health care system, costs billions more than promised, and reduces the ability for job creators to hire new workers—not ideal conditions for a nation currently plagued by economic hardship. It’s long past time we reduce such barriers to job growth.”

“I am proud to support efforts to ultimately eliminate the President’s health care overhaul and will continue to promote a market-based system that strengthens the doctor-patient relationship, reduces cost, increases access, and allows American businesses to grow again.”

The Defund Obamacare Act deauthorizes future appropriations and rescinds prior appropriations that would implement any provision under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010.
