Hudson Works to Prioritize Veteran Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after voting in favor of the FY 2016 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill (H.R. 2029):
“One of my most important responsibilities in Congress is fighting on behalf of our service members, veterans and military families - the very people who sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Today’s vote reflects my goal to prioritize spending to provide our active duty and retired troops with the best resources, health care and support in the most cost-efficient, responsible way. This is a small but crucial step towards fulfilling the promises made to our nation’s veterans.”
In addition, Rep. Hudson spoke from the House floor today to encourage Congress to continue working to break up the bureaucracy at the VA by first allowing veterans to receive care from private providers in their local communities and having the VA pay for it. To watch his remarks, click here.
