Hudson Votes to Stop Tax Hikes
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after voting to protect Americans from tax hikes and provide greater certainty:
“As I travel across the district, I continue to hear from folks who are frustrated and being held back by our broken, complicated tax code. Today’s bipartisan tax package is a step in the right direction to empower individuals and families to keep more of their hard-earned income while providing businesses certainty to grow and create jobs. It lays the ground work for bold, pro-growth tax reform that will expand opportunities and support economic growth.”
Today, the House passed the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act. This bill makes permanent over 20 tax relief provisions, extends for 2 or 5 years a number of other tax relief provisions that expired at the end of calendar year 2014, provides for a 2-year moratorium on the medical device tax, and includes a number of additional tax policy changes.
