Hudson Votes to Create Jobs, Block Burdensome Regulations
Regulatory Reform Bill Will Increase Economic Growth
WASHINGTON-In an effort to restore a measure of accountability for federal regulations to Congress, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) voted in support of Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS)Act. The bill was introduced with 121 co-sponsors, one of which was Hudson.
“The uncertainty over the implementation of job-crippling laws like Obamacare and Dodd-Frank continues to trouble families, individuals and small business owners across our communities,” said Hudson. “Burdensome regulations cost jobs. The REINS Act will prevent bureaucrats in Washington from crushing our local small business owners with unnecessary regulations, and allow them to actually grow, expand, and hire people.”
The REINS Act would require any rule or regulation with an economic impact of $100 million or more come before Congress for vote before taking effect. It passed the House overwhelmingly in the 112th Congress, but never received a hearing in the Senate.
