Hudson Votes for Pro-Sportsmen, Pro-Second Amendment Legislation
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after voting for the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act of 2015 (H.R. 2406):
“As an avid sportsman, I learned to appreciate the outdoors from an early age and am committed to conserving these resources for future generations. Today’s bipartisan legislation is a common sense solution to preserve our access and ensure proper management of public lands. Additionally, it will stop the EPA from issuing inefficient regulations on ammunition and tackle that would increase costs for hunters, sports shooters and fishermen.”
The SHARE Act is comprised of thirteen provisions that increase opportunities for hunters, anglers and recreational shooters; eliminate inefficient regulations and safeguard against new regulations that impede outdoor sporting activities; and protect Second Amendment rights. The bill also protects the use of traditional ammunition and fishing tackle, prevents the implementation of onerous constraints on lawfully possessed ivory products, and eliminates red tape associated with the importation of hunting trophies.
