Hudson Votes for National Defense Bill, Secures Funding for NC Troops & Infrastructure
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09) released the following statement after he voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement andNational Defense Authorization Act for FY25 (NDAA) with bipartisan support:
"As the representative of the largest military base in the world, strengthening our nation's defense capabilities and improving the quality of life for our servicemembers and their families is a top priority of mine," said Rep. Hudson."I am proud to secure much-needed upgrades and essential resources for Fort Liberty/Fort Bragg, and will continue fighting to ensure our military has the support they deserve."
The FY25 NDAA provides for the needs of servicemembers and their families through a 19.5% pay increase for junior enlisted servicemembers and a 4.5% increase for all other servicemembers, improved housing and access to healthcare, and enhanced capabilities to counter foreign threats.
Included in the FY25 NDAA were Rep. Hudson's following priorities to benefit active duty military personnel and their families at Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg:
- $11.8 Million for a Special Ops Arms Room Addition
- $19.4 Million for Microgrid Utilizing Existing and New Generators
- $39 Million for a Child Development Center
- $7 Million for Emergency Water Systems
- Prevents Funding Cuts to Special Operations Forces
- Strengthen Oversight of Military Housing Habitability
