Hudson Votes for Job Training that Works

WASHINGTON- Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson, member of the Education and Workforce Committee, released a statement following House passage of the Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills (SKILLS) Act, H.R. 803.

“Over 12 million Americans are unemployed, while 3.6 million jobs remain open. It’s clear the workforce development system is broken. My top priority is getting the people of North Carolina back to work, and this legislation empowers state and local officials to efficiently and effectively address our community’s workforce needs by consolidating programs and services at the local level. State and local governments know the needs of their local workforcemuch more than bureaucrats in Washington. It is time that we give the hundreds of thousands of unemployed North Carolinians the tools to get back to work, and the SKILLS Act does just that.”

Rep. Hudson is a co-sponsor of the Supporting Knowledge and Investing in Lifelong Skills Act, which was originally introduced by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC).
