Hudson Votes for Historic Tax Cuts
WASHINGTON, D.C.- Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the House passed the conference report for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1):
“History shows us pro-growth tax cuts give us tremendous job growth, more opportunities and increased wages for working families,” said Rep. Hudson. “This is our generation’s chance. With this historic tax cut, low- and middle-income individuals and families will have more take-home pay and more opportunity to achieve the American dream.”
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is the most sweeping, pro-growth tax reform in more than 30 years. The bill would overhaul America’s tax code to lower taxes on families, workers and small businesses. By lowering taxes across the board, eliminating special-interest loopholes, and simplifying our tax system, the bill will deliver more jobs, bigger paychecks, a simpler and fairer tax code, and economic growth for all Americans.
With this bill, the typical family of four earning the median family income in America will receive a tax cut of $2,059. For policy highlights, click here. For the joint explanatory statement of the Committee on Conference, click here and for the full report, click here.
