Hudson To Speak at Annual NRA Meeting Friday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, May 4, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), author of the House-passed Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (H.R. 38), will speak at the annual NRA meeting on Friday, May 4, in Dallas, Texas.
“I’m incredibly humbled and excited to be speaking among a powerful group of patriots and conservative champions of our Second Amendment,” said Rep. Hudson. “Concealed carry reciprocity is already well-established across our country with the average state recognizing permits from more than 30 other states. National concealed carry reciprocity is simply common sense, and I’m proud to lead the efforts to make it a reality.”
“The NRA is excited to have Richard Hudson address the NRA-ILA Leadership Forum,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action. “Our five million members appreciate his leadership in introducing Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation and seeing it passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. Richard is a strong defender of our constitutional right to self-defense and we look forward to thanking him in Dallas.”
As the champion of concealed carry reciprocity and a leader on protecting our Second Amendment rights, Rep. Hudson was the only member of the U.S. House of Representatives asked to speak. Also speaking at the event are: President Donald Trump; Vice President Mike Pence; NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre; NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox; Gov. Greg Abbott, Texas; Sen. John Cornyn, Texas; Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas; Gov. Pete Ricketts, Nebraska; Mark Geist, Benghazi Survivor; Diamond & Silk, Social Media Personalities; Dana Loesch, NRA Spokesperson; and Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA Founder.
Rep. Hudson’s bill is one of the most important pro-Second Amendment measures in Congress, with some supporters saying it would be one of the greatest legislative advancements of our Second Amendment rights in history. The bill is also supported by attorneys general of 24 states. For a one-pager on the bill, click here. For a Q&A document, click here.
