Hudson Surveys Florence Damage in Cumberland County, Provides Constituents Resources
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after traveling across the eighth district to assess Hurricane Florence. On Monday, Rep. Hudson visited Cumberland County to meet with Emergency Management officials and other local leaders, learn more about response and recovery efforts, and talk with constituents in shelters. He also visited Fort Bragg to learn about efforts to mitigate damage to infrastructure and military equipment and to ensure the safety of soldiers, military families and civilians. While at Fort Bragg, he toured the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s staging at Simmons Army Airfield. In addition, Rep. Hudson joined the U.S. Coast Guard to survey storm damage across the 8th District.
“My wife Renee and I are heartbroken to see the devastation from Hurricane Florence, and we will continue to pray for our state as we face significant flooding,” said Rep. Hudson. “The coordination between local, state and federal partners on preparation and response efforts is incredible. I’ll continue to make this a team effort to ensure we have what we need to rebuild.”
