Hudson Supports Select Committee to Investigate Benghazi

WASHINGTON- U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) today announced his co-sponsorship of legislation to create a House select committee to investigate the terrorist attack in Benghazi and the U.S. response (H.Res.36).

“On the eve of the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Benghazi, it’s shameful the Obama Administration has yet to bring those responsible to justice and has refused to provide answers to Congress about the attack that resulted in the death of four Americans, including a U.S. Ambassador. I have waited a year for Congressional committees to investigate the attack on the U.S. Consulate, and after seven full committee hearings 19 classified briefings, and 31 official letters of inquiry, we still have not uncovered the truth or brought those responsible to justice. While I fully believe in the oversight process and know my colleagues on these committees are doing good work, the American people deserve a more focused investigation. For this reason, and on this solemn day, I have decided to co-sponsor legislation to stand up a select Congressional committee to investigate the Benghazi terrorist attack. I will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice.”
