Hudson Supports Fair Trade
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the House passed the bipartisan United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):
“I’ve seen firsthand the impact of bad trade policies in our state – including closed factories, outsourced jobs and lost opportunity," said Rep. Hudson. "That’s why I’ve continued to fight for fair trade agreements that protect American jobs and products. While it’s not perfect, today’s bipartisan deal modernizes policies that were written more than a quarter of a century ago and takes steps to level the playing field for American workers.
Hudson continued, “We need to continue our work to address the unfair and destructive trading practices of countries like China, but it’s my hope that this fair and commonsense trade agreement will help tear down barriers for Made-in-America products and create more opportunity and good-paying jobs here at home.”
