Hudson Supports Bipartisan Legislation to Encourage I-73 Development
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after cosponsoring H. Res. 585, a bipartisan resolution to promote cooperative effort among states along the Interstate 73 corridor that would benefit I-73’s development:
“Our nation’s infrastructure projects have proven to be critical for economic development and job creation in North Carolina. I-73 is no different and its completion has the potential to drive economic growth in our region by connecting more of our goods to markets and more people to jobs. This resolution helps encourage the states to advance a long-term, mutual plan to develop I-73 to attain these economic benefits for our local communities.”
This resolution will permit and encourage South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan to negotiate with each other to facilitate and coordinate the design, construction, financing and operation of the I-73 corridor.
