Hudson Stresses Importance of Maintaining Reforms in FARRM Bill

WASHINGTON- Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), a member of the House Agriculture Committee, authored a letter to the House FARRM Bill conferees, urging them to hold strong on reforms and savings as they begin negotiations with the Senate. Joined by 27 of his House colleagues, Rep. Hudson outlined the successes of the House-passed bill and encouraged Chairman Lucas and the conferees to maintain the commonsense provisions.

Rep. Hudson stated, “The farm bill is one of many opportunities to set sound policy for our farmers and agribusiness community while shrinking the size of government. I want to get the farm bill finished as badly as anyone, but we need to get it right. I believe the commonsense reforms passed in the House reflect the priorities of a majority of Americans, so I sent this letter to provide our negotiators the support they need to get a good product out of the Conference Committee. It’s time to provide certainty for our farmers and get this farm bill across the finish line.”
