Hudson Statement on Robust Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement reacting to the December 2018 jobs report:
“The jobs created speak for themselves: Tax cuts are working,” said Rep. Hudson. “It’s pretty ironic that the first step Nancy Pelosi took as Speaker was to lay the groundwork to raise taxes and automatically increase deficit spending.”
The U.S. Department of Labor reported today that in December:
  • U.S. added 312,000 jobs, more than the expected 176,000 jobs
  • Average hourly earnings recorded their biggest full-year gain since 2008, rising 3.2%
  • Jobless rate was 3.9%, reflecting more people actively seeking work
