Hudson Statement on Chancellor Dubois Retirement
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), UNC Charlotte Class of 1996, released the following statement after UNC Charlotte Chancellor Philip L. Dubois announced he will retire effective June 30, 2020:
“Chancellor Dubois has spent nearly 20 years serving our great university,” said Rep. Hudson. “He has done so with steadfast leadership, incredible passion, unbeatable commitment, and – most notable of all – love for Niner Nation. I know this because I’ve seen the respect and admiration faculty, staff and students have for him. As both an alumnus and the first Member of Congress to graduate from UNC Charlotte, it has truly been a privilege working with Phil, and I look forward to continuing this partnership through his retirement next year. I’m also proud to call him a dear friend. Phil and Lisa have been tireless advocates for UNC Charlotte and I want to express my sincere appreciation for all they’ve done. Renee and I wish them and their entire family all the best as they look to this new chapter of their lives.”
