Hudson Statement on April Jobs Report
The unemployment rate fell to 3.6%, the lowest level since December 1969
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement reacting to the April 2019 jobs report:
“The jobs report crushed expectations – again,” said Rep. Hudson. “There’s more work to do to ensure this prosperity is shared in all our rural communities, but these great numbers show our tax cuts and smarter regulations are making a difference. I’m committed to keeping this strong economic momentum going to help all Americans.”
The U.S. economy added 263,000 jobs in April, beating expectations and marking a record 103 straight months of job gains. The unemployment rate fell to 3.6%, the lowest level since December 1969.
