Hudson Responds to Iran Ransom Payment
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the State Department admitted the $400 million cash to Iran was in exchange for hostages:
“First, President Obama gambled with the security of the entire world to negotiate a dangerous nuclear deal that paves Iran’s path to a nuclear bomb. Now, this administration has put countless American lives at risk across the globe by putting a price tag on their heads. President Obama has not only defied longstanding policy to not pay ransom, but also just two weeks ago at the Pentagon(link is external) he assured the American people it did not happen. Yet again, our commander-in-chief is bending to every will of the Iran regime – all the while misleading the American people.”
