Hudson Releases Statement on the Retirement of Rep. G.K. Butterfield
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement on the retirement of Rep. G.K. Butterfield (NC-01):
"G.K. Butterfield has served eastern North Carolina for many years with integrity. While we often disagreed on policy, as colleagues on the Energy and Commerce Committee we worked together on many important issues such as the Protecting Patient Access to Emergency Medications Act," said Rep. Hudson. "Renee and I wish G.K. all the best as he begins this next chapter of his life."
Reps. Hudson and Butterfield are co-chairs of the Congressional Pediatric Trauma Caucus. Working together in the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Reps. Hudson and Butterfield have cosponsored numerous bills. The latest, the Improving the Health of Children Act, was passed favorably by the Committee on Wednesday.
