“People with Down syndrome enrich our world in unique ways," said Rep. Hudson. "GLOBAL is paving the way for people who are differently-abled so they can live their lives to their full potential with no barriers or bias or obstacles standing in their way. I am honored to support their efforts and to receive this award, and will continue advocating for policies that improve the lives of people with Down syndrome.”

Michelle Sie Whitten, Co-Founder, President, and CEO of GLOBAL, shared the following statement:

“At GLOBAL, we are working hard every day to elongate life and improve health outcomes for our loved ones with Down syndrome,” said GLOBAL Co-Founder, President, and CEO, Michelle Sie Whitten. “To have such overwhelming bi-partisan support –from NIH scientists to self-advocates with Down syndrome to corporate leaders – celebrating the impact of our work is extremely rewarding and appreciated. The excitement at our event and the tangible outcomes of our work together is truly rewarding! We at GLOBAL send our deepest gratitude to Congressman Richard Hudson for being our 2024 Republican Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Awardee, and we look forward to continuing to work together to move the needle on federal policy that results in increased medical care and research for the people with Down syndrome that we serve.”

Amy Navejas, Executive Director of the North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance, shared the following statement:

“Rep. Hudson is a key leader within the House Energy and Commerce (E&C) Committee where he oversees policy that affects our loved ones with Down syndrome," said North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance Executive Director, Amy Navejas. "Currently, the North Carolina Down syndrome Alliance supports the DeOndra Dixon INCLUDE Project Act, which we happily thank Congressman Hudson for voting in favor to pass through the House Energy and Commerce Committee (E&C).”
