Hudson Leads on Obamacare Repeal
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), a leader on the Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee, released the following statement on the introduction of legislation in the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees to repeal and replace Obamacare:
“Obamacare was written in a back room and signed into law without a single Republican vote or say from the American people. Government shouldn’t work that way and neither should health care. Today we took another important step in the right direction to rebuild our health care system in an open, thoughtful and transparent way – soliciting input from both sides of the aisle, from doctors and patients, from insurance companies and businesses, and most importantly, from the American people. The government-knows-best health care system we have now is too bureaucratic, too expensive, and too restrictive. I will continue to work to repeal Obamacare and advance long-term, patient-centered solutions that deliver better results for the American people.”
As a Member of the influential Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Rep. Hudson is on the frontlines of health care reform in Congress. Congressional Committees are holding legislative hearings to deliver relief for Americans struggling under Obamacare and implement a patient-centered health care system that prioritizes affordability, quality, and choice.
The Energy and Commerce Committee has scheduled a markup of this legislation on Wednesday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m.
