Hudson Leads Bipartisan Resolution to Recognize National Tire Safety Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the week of June 24 through July 3, 2024, as National Tire Safety Week (NTSW). NTSW is an annual initiative designed to educate American motorists about the importance of proper tire care and maintenance. 

“With summer vacations and travel underway, this is a critical time to remember the importance of tire safety," said Rep. Hudson."As Co-Chair of the Congressional Tire Caucus, I am proud to lead this bipartisan effort to increase awareness of frequent tire care and maintenance, which will help ensure you stay safe on the road."

Joining Rep. Hudson are Reps. Ben Cline (R-VA), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Emilia Sykes (D-OH), and Chris Deluzio (D-PA).

Each year, the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USMTA), its member companies, and partners promote National Tire Safety Week, an annual initiative designed to educate American motorists about the importance of proper tire care and maintenance.

This resolution will help amplify the importance of regular tire safety maintenance as a significant step towards improving traffic safety on our nation’s roadways. The USMTA encourages motorists to improve tire safety by checking inflation pressure monthly, getting alignment checked, rotating their tires, and inspecting the tread of their tires.

Motorists in the United States traveled more than 3.2 trillion miles on tires in the past year. As summer travel begins, it is important for motorists to ensure proper tire safety steps are undertaken before hitting the road.
