Hudson Health Legislation Passes Committee

WASHINGTON, DC - Last week, Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09) announced his bill, H.R. 1352,the Increasing Access to Biosimilars Act of 2023, passed(link is external) through a House Energy and Commerce committee legislative markup with bipartisan support. The legislation will now move to the House floor for final passage.

“Americans deserve every option for affordable prescription drugs.” said Rep. Hudson “That is why I stopped at no end to get this bill through the Committee by working with my colleagues across the aisle and negotiating the best opportunities to provide affordable medicines. I look forward to continuing to move this bill all the way to the President’s desk.” 

The Increasing Access to Biosimilars Act of 2023 would require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a demonstration project to increase access to biosimilar biological products through Medicare. 

The Increasing Access to Biosimilars Act of 2023 was reported to the Full House, as amended, by a roll call vote of 44 yeas to 0 nays.
