Hudson Co-Chairs Bipartisan Agriculture and Rural America Task Force
WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, Rep. Richard Hudson (NC-08) and bipartisan Members of Congress who represent districts with large agriculture influence united to kick-off the Agriculture and Rural America Task Force:
“I’ve learned that sometimes, ideas about what’s best for our farmers and producers isn’t about which side of the aisle you fall on - Republican or Democrat. That’s why we created this bipartisan task force to work across the aisle on policies that empower our farmers and entrepreneurs in rural America and get our economy back on track.”
Co-Chairs Rep. Hudson and Rep. Dan Kildee (MI-05) join as leaders of the task force to advance policies that strike the right balance between ensuring fiscal responsibility, providing certainty to our farmers and maintaining the strength of our agribusinesses. In a concerted, bipartisan effort, the caucus intends to hold regular meetings with the House Agriculture Committee and stakeholders, while informing and educating Members of Congress about issues that are important to rural America.
In North Carolina, agriculture remains the top industry in the state, boosting the economy by $78 billion and supporting nearly 650,000 jobs.
