March 24, 2020
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after Wake County (North Carolina) Sheriff Gerald Baker announced that no pistol purchase or concealed carry permits will be processed through the end of April:
“While protecting public health is our top priority, no government or law enforcement agency should use the coronavirus to infringe upon our 2nd Amendment rights,” said Rep. Hudson. “I call on Sheriff Baker to follow North Carolina law and honor the Constitution by continuing to process pistol permits.”
As the sponsor of H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, Rep. Hudson is an outspoken advocate of the 2nd Amendment and committed to fighting to protect the rights of all North Carolinians and Americans to keep and bear arms.
