Hudson Applauds Passage of Bill to Provide Jobs to Veterans
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the House passed the Hire More Heroes Act (H.R. 22).
“As more of our nation’s heroes return home, this commonsense legislation will give them a better chance at finding good-paying jobs outside of the Armed Forces. I applaud passage of this overwhelmingly bipartisan legislation that makes it much easier for veterans to find good jobs and I will continue working hard to provide relief to our families, workers and job creators from Obamacare’s many burdens. This is the first step in pursuing a conservative agenda that reins in President Obama’s harmful policies, promotes job creation and truly changes the direction of our country.”
This bipartisan legislation to encourage employers to hire more veterans passed the House in the 113th Congress, 406 – 1. It exempts veterans who are already receiving health care through TRICARE or from the Veterans Administration from being counted toward the number of employees required by Obamacare’s employer mandate.
