Hudson Applauds Introduction of TSA Reform Bill in U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON-Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson released the following statement following the announcement that U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) introduced companion legislation to H.R. 2719, the Transportation Security Acquisition Reform Act, a bill authored by Rep. Hudson that unanimously passed the U.S. House of Representatives, 416 – 0 earlier this month.

“Senator Ayotte has continually proven herself to be a leader on issues affecting aviation security as a member of both the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. She is a vocal proponent of fiscally responsible, commonsense solutions that ensure the security of our homeland and responsible stewardship of our tax dollars. This bipartisan, bicameral bill introduces transparency for TSA spending decisions while keeping travelers safe and protecting taxpayer dollars. I am proud of the tremendous support this bill received in the House, and I look forward to working with Senator Ayotte and her colleagues to bring it to the Senate floor. ”
