Blanchat brings decade of NC experience to new role

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-09) announced he has named Luke Blanchat as Chief of Staff. Blanchat will replace personal office Chief of Staff Elliott Guffin and will be based in North Carolina.

“Luke has a strong passion for serving the people of North Carolina, and I am confident he will do a fantastic job leading our team as chief of staff,” said. Rep. Hudson. “Luke lives in Southern Pines and has served our state for many years—experience that will help my office continue to deliver for our constituents.”

Prior to joining Hudson’s office, Blanchat served as the Director of Government Relations for FirstHealth of the Carolinas and has an extensive background in public service. Over the course of nearly 10 years, Blanchat served in various roles in the office of Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), including Deputy State Director and Campaign Manager of his 2020 re-election. In addition, he helped manage former North Carolina Senator Richard Burr’s campaign in 2016.

Blanchat is a North Carolina native, and currently resides in Southern Pines with his wife and two children.

Former Chief of Staff Elliott Guffin now serves as Director of Federal Affairs for Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
