Hudson Announces $321,150 Grant for Stanly County Schools
ALBEMARLE, N.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded Stanly County Schools a Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant(link is external) of $321,150.00:
“I continue to work to tackle the root causes of violence, make our schools safer and improve mental health in our communities,” said Rep. Hudson. “This grant will go a long way to ensure thousands of students in our community can get help if they need it.”
The Rural Development investment will assist Stanly County Schools install a state-of-the-art telemedicine project to connect 20 schools with trained mental health professionals at a clinic. All 20 schools and the behavioral health clinic are in Stanly County. This telemedicine project will serve 8,700 students.
