Hudson: American SAFE Act is Critical Part of House GOP’s Plan to Strengthen National Security
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08), co-author of bipartisan legislation to strengthen the vetting of Syrian and Iraqi refugees, released the following statement after House Republicans put forward a plan to strengthen our national security, including ideas to improve the integrity of the refugee screening process:
“As the world looks to America for leadership and guidance at a time of grave security threats, the Obama administration continues to lead from behind. We have a better way to keep our country safe, and it includes securing our borders and keeping terrorists out of our country. My common sense bill, the American SAFE Act, will address the glaring vulnerabilities in our security that let terrorists and dangerous individuals slip through the cracks. It’s a critical component of our plan to strengthen vetting of refugees and keep terrorists out of America.”
This is the second platform of their bold policy agenda to tackle some of our country’s biggest challenges.
