ROCKINGHAM — Congressman Richard Hudson met with members of the Richmond County Farm Bureau on Monday to discuss agriculture and the economy on Monday.
Farmers from around the county had a opportunity to discuss some of the challenges that they’re facing, as well as provide insight and guidance to a few young individuals who are looking to pursue a career in agriculture.
After everyone at the meeting introduced themselves, Hudson recalled a time as a freshman in Congress that a Democratic colleague said a farm bill didn’t effect their constituents.
ASHEBORO – Congressman Richard Hudson expressed his vision for expanding the influence of the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA during a visit last week.
Hudson saw glimpse of how the facility serves residents in the region.
“The Randolph-Asheboro YMCA is a vital part of our community, serving residents of all ages and backgrounds,” Hudson said. “I enjoyed seeing the facility firsthand and reading to students, as well as discussing ways to support the YMCA’s growth with local leaders and employees through grants and other initiatives.”

LAURINBURG — Congressman Richard Hudson took a tour of Scotland Memorial Hospital Wednesday to take a first-hand look at health care in the community.
Hudson who represents the 8th district, but is running to represent the 9th district, which includes Scotland County said he was impressed with the hospital during his tour.
Congressman Richard Hudson was in Sanford on Tuesday touring the Parkdale plant and seeing how products made here in North Carolina impact world markets.
Parkdale produces more than 1 billion pounds of yarn annually at 34 facilities across eight states and seven countries. The company sells U.S. Cotton products to 428 retailers worldwide and produces enough yard to make 1.56 billion T-shirts each year.
The Randolph-Asheboro YMCA hosted its Congressional Representative Richard Hudson, Tuesday morning, as part of a tour of the decades-old facility.
"I'm an old Y guy," Hudson said, adding that he grew up making use of YMCA facilities. "I believe in what you do."
The representative for North Carolina's 8th Congressional District, which includes Randolph County, Hudson's visit served two purposes for Hudson and the YMCA. For Hudson, this was part of his effort to get to know voters in his District.
