Cheerleaders from a North Carolina high school were placed on probation after picture of them posing with a Trump banner during a football game surfaced on social media, the Charlotte Observer reports.
On Monday, Stanly County Schools announced that the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) had placed the cheerleading squad from North Stanly High School on probation for the remainder of the season. Because the NCHSAA “has not defined the terms of the probation,” the team can continue cheering, officials said.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Cheerleaders at North Stanley High School in Stanly County are on probation after photos made the rounds on social media of the girls posing with a TRUMP 2020 sign during a Friday night football game.
They are still allowed to cheer, but have been put on notice to discontinue this type of behavior by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.

NEW LONDON, N.C. — The North Stanly High School cheerleading squad has been placed on probation by the N.C. High School Athletic Association after members of the team held up a Trump 2020 sign at a school event last week, and 8th District Congressman Richard Hudson is calling foul.
Hudson, a Republican, sent a letter to NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker on Tuesday questioning why the the association placed the cheerleading squad on probation.
