Citizens from both sides of the political sphere quizzed U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, R-8th, Tuesday on issues ranging from immigration to the Affordable Care Act and federal spending.

Hudson, who was elected last fall to serve the southern portion of Davidson County, reaffirmed that he represented all citizens on all sides, after taking a question from area resident Galen Hahn.

CONCORD, N.C. -- Eighth District U.S. Congressman Richard Hudson held a town hall meeting at Jay M. Robinson High School on Monday where he emphasized his goal of stopping Obamacare and other priorities.

About 100 people attended the meeting, moderated by Judge Martin McGee, including local and state elected officials. The meeting was generally calm but became raucous at times when attendees called for the end of the health care law and the impeachment of President Barack Obama.

U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson toured the Stanly County Airport and pledged his support for helping the airport continue its growth.

Hudson was escorted through the facility by Airport Director David Griffin and Airport Authority Chairman Mike Harwood during the 90-minute stop Thursday during a district tour.

The Laurinburg-Maxton Airport has an important role to play in bringing jobs to Scotland County and to the region, according to U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, who toured the facility on Friday.

Hudson was in Maxton as part of a three-day tour of transportation hubs in the district, and said that few are more valuable to the local economy than the airport.

SALISBURY — County leaders pitched their vision of the Rowan County Airport to two congressmen and a slew of state delegates Wednesday.

U.S. Reps. Richard Hudson and Virginia Foxx toured the airport as a part of Hudson’s transportation jobs tour. They were joined by N.C. Reps. Harry Warren and Carl Ford, and Sens. Gene McLaurin and Andrew Brock.

U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, R-8th, spoke at the monthly meeting of the Davidson County Tea Party at Tricia's Catering on Thursday to urge Republicans to spread the conservative message.

He said it was imperative for Republicans to take back control of the United States Senate and the best way to do that it to make people aware of the issues.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Concord Rep. Richard Hudson wants to know why the federal agency charged with keeping airports safe is letting employees who break the rules get away with what he told me is a "slap on the wrist."

A new report showed Transportation Security Administration agents sleeping on the job, stealing from passengers and helping family members bypass security lines.

"We need to make sure we've got a system in place to catch those bad actors," Hudson said.
