December 28, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), chair of the Agriculture and Rural America Task Force, voted in favor of a bipartisan Farm Bill Conference Report that passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

“As we’ve seen this year, our farmers and rural communities face enormous uncertainty from natural disasters and unfair global markets,” Hudson said. “While it’s not perfect, today’s bipartisan Farm Bill helps ensure agriculture remains the lifeblood of North Carolina.”

The Farm Bill is supported by hundreds of national farming organizations and rural advocates.

As a leader on agriculture issues and chair of the bipartisan Agriculture and Rural America Task Force, Hudson has been recognized as a Friend of Farm Bureau, an award he has earned every year as a member of Congress. He has earned this recognition for his work to empower North Carolina’s farmers and rural communities to help grow the state’s economy, a press release from his office said.

In Congress, Hudson has served on two committees that are critical to North Carolina agriculture. His first term, he served as a member of the House Agriculture Committee. He currently serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over the EPA and FDA.
