Hudson to consider academy nominations
September 30, 2015
ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County high school students who wish to attend a United States service academy in 2016 have until Nov. 2 to apply for a nomination from U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson.
Congressmen can nominate a limited number of students to four of the five service academies: the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
“One of my top priorities is providing top-notch constituent services, and it is my privilege to nominate outstanding high school students to our service academies each year,” Hudson said in a statement. “I encourage those who are interested in serving our country, receiving a quality education and joining the honorable ranks of the strongest military in the world to submit an application.”
The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, visit Hudson’s congressional website at http://hudson.house.gov or contact Mallory Morris in the Concord district office at 704-786-1612.
The deadline for submitting an application is 5 p.m. Nov. 2. Applications can be sent to Hudson at 325 McGill Ave., Suite 501, Concord, NC 28027.
Hudson, R-Concord, represents North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District, which includes all of Richmond County.
