Hudson dives in to concealed carry at NRA conference
There is preaching to the choir, and then there is Congressman Richard Hudson talking to the annual NRA conference.
“Many of us choose to own a gun for hunting, for sport, for protection, and that is our right protected by the plain language if the second amendment,” he said.
Hudson introduced legislation that would allow those with a carry conceal permit to do so in every state.
The bill has passed in the house. It would have no effect on carry conceal permit holders coming to North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Justice. North Carolina has allowed carry conceal permit holders from any state since 2011.
However North Carolinians, are not offered carry conceal reciprocity in 11 states including New York City and Washington D.C.
“And we have have seen similar success stories all across the nation,” Hudson said. “When it comes to our rights, we have gone from almost no conceal carry rights being recognized anywhere 30 years ago to having conceal carry in every state now and conceal carry reciprocity pass the House.”
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Hudson has received at least $1,000 from the NRA during the last election cycle.
