Busy day for US House members in Salisbury

October 25, 2016
Two members of the United States House of Representatives and at least one candidate will be in Salisbury today.
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-5th District) will tour North Hills Christian School on Tuesday, October 25th. Foxx, who is seeking the chairmanship of the Education and Workforce Committee, will make a special stop to meet with school leaders, families, and students.
According to a news release from the office of Representative Foxx, North Carolina has become a national leader for parental school choice, thanks in large part to the quality educational options schools like North Hills Christian School provide for families in the area.
"Naturally, a Representative from North Carolina is now in line to assume an expanded leadership role as it pertains to education," the release state.
North Hills Christian School is a non-denominational college-preparatory Christian day school serving students in junior kindergarten (Jr. K) through high school (12th grade) that holds dual accreditation.
They currently serve 16 Opportunity Scholarship students and a number of their parents will be on site meeting with Rep. Foxx.
Rep. Richard Hudson (R-8th District) will visit several small businesses in Salisbury to have conversations about the challenges and prospects facing small businesses, as well as House Republicans' vision to grow the economy and promote job creation as part of a bold policy agenda, "A Better Way," according to a news release.
Rep. Hudson will join Salisbury Mayor Karen Alexander, Rowan County Commission Chairman Greg Edds, and Ted Budd, candidate for the thirteenth district.
The Main Street Tour will start at Salisbury City Hall with a brief overview of business development, followed by visits to several businesses, including Innes Street Drug, Go Burrito and Pottery 101.
