Hudson’s Bipartisan Bills to Combat Opioid Crisis Head to Trump’s Desk
Hudson’s bill has been praised as one of “the most important opioid bills
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after Congress passed his bipartisan bills, the Securing Opioids and Unused Narcotics with Deliberate (SOUND) Disposal and Packaging Act (H.R. 5687), the Safe Disposal of Unused Medication Act (H.R. 5041), and the Education for Disposal of Unused (EDU) Opioids Act (H.R. 5714), as part of H.R. 6, a comprehensive package of bipartisan legislation to combat the opioid crisis:
“I’ve met and spoken with countless people who became addicted to pain pills they took from the family medicine cabinet,” said Rep. Hudson. “This is the front line in our all-hands-on-deck fight to end the opioid crisis, and I’m proud to help lead these bipartisan efforts.”
