Hudson Statement on Benghazi Committee's Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement in response to the publication of the final report from the Select Committee on Benghazi:
“The Benghazi report honors the lives and memory of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods. I ask that all Americans read this report and come to their own conclusions about what happened in Benghazi.
“After reading the report, several key facts become very clear. First, the White House was more concerned with public relations and the impact on an election 56 days away than they were about the lives of American citizens on the ground. Second, the facts refute the false narrative that no military assets could have arrived in time. Third, it is clear Hillary Clinton lied to the American people about the cause of the attack in order to protect her legacy and the president's re-election. The bottom line is that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama dithered while Americans died, and they lied about it to cover their failures.”
