Hudson Votes for a More Prosperous America
WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the House passed the FY16 Budget Resolution, A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America:
“In contrast to President Obama whose budget increases taxes on hard-working Americans by $2.1 trillion without ever balancing, I supported a conservative budget that cuts reckless spending to save our tax dollars, promotes a stronger economy to get people back to work and rids us of Obamacare to pave the way for patient-centered reforms. For North Carolina’s job seekers, families who can’t pay their bills, and businesses struggling in a sluggish economy, a balanced budget is a step in the right direction towards a stronger, more prosperous America.”
The FY16 Budget Resolution, A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America, balances within less than ten years with no new taxes, cuts $5.5 trillion in wasteful spending, repeals Obamacare, and strengthens our nation’s safety net by making much-needed reforms to vital programs. It is a fiscally responsible, conservative budget that prioritizes spending to guarantee that our taxpayer dollars are used wisely while ensuring a strong national defense. This budget passed by a vote of 228-199. Rep. Hudson also voted in support of the Republican Study Committee’s Blueprint for a Balanced Budget.
